Welcome to the An Endgame website and production journal. Here you will find information about our short film, behind the scenes information, and shared stories from people affected by Parkinson's disease.

What is the short about?
An Endgame is a fictitious short film about two brothers with Parkinson's disease and their heartbreaking journey coming to terms with their illness.

A Nonprofit project?
The short film is aimed at raising awareness of and research funding for Parkinson's disease. An Endgame has partnered with the Wilkins Parkinson's Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness of Parkinson's Disease, creating an alliance between existing Parkinson's related nonprofits, and funding research. The WPF has generously agreed to sponsor our project making An Endgame a participating member of Wilkins Parkinson's Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.

Donate!
Donations can be made at https://secure.qgiv.com/for/aend or by clicking the yellow donate button in the sidebar to the right of the page!

If you are making a donation in someone's name, tell us on the donation page, and we would love to publish that on our site along with any words of encouragement or thoughts about that person you'd like to share. If you have Parkinson's yourself, we would appreciate if you shared some of your own personal experiences, musings, or even difficulties living with PD for us to put up on the site. My hope is that people will visit our People of Parkinson's page and weigh-in with their support and other memories of loved ones.

Please e-mail us at anendgame@gmail.com with pictures too for us to put with the dedication and People of Parkinson's posts!

You can also donate to the film if you just like short-form entertainment and have not had any experience with Parkinson's at all!

If you aren't in a position to donate, that's ok too! It would be great if you could tell a friend or two about the project and directed them here to our web site at www.anendgame.blogspot.com. If you happen to be friends with Bill Gates, heck we'd even prefer it!

For updates on the project and new journal posts, follow us on Facebook, TwitterGoogle+, or feel free to send us an e-mail at anendgame@gmail.com

April is Parkinson's Awareness Month!

Dear family and friends,

I know it’s been a little while, but April is national Parkinson's Awareness Month, and to help spread awareness for PD and raise money for An Endgame, we have three very exciting recent developments that I wanted to share.

First, this past weekend, David, Mayon and I had planned a pretty run of the mill camera test at Arctek Studios; however, we had so many people that were excited about our project and wanted to help out that we were actually able to have a very small shoot day.

Previously, Mayon and I had discussed cutting together a mood reel, a short edit made up of clips and music from existing films to showcase the visual and emotional tone of the pitched project. Since we had the crew, we decided we could shoot a short "mood scene" rather than cut together a mood reel.

We hope that the more content we can produce will be a reward to our donors thus far and would also be a more accurate correlation to the bittersweet emotions we are aiming to show in An Endgame than cutting something from pre-existing material.

I'll be writing a full post on the shoot day and the short soon, but we decided not do a scene from An Endgame to avoid being repetitive, so I wrote an entirely new short scene that again centers on two brothers and the difficult decision they make for each other. The week before our shoot date, we had a casting secession and cast two great actors, Peter Wittrock and Chris Gann, from a pool of about a hundred and fifty actors.

That scene is currently in post-production being edited, color corrected, and mixed, and we hope to have it finished in the next few weeks (stay tuned for a what is post-production post soon!) to share with our donors and to use as a promotional piece. You can see a short preview (that is not color timed, or sound mixed) of the scene, For the Ones We Love, here.

We'd love to hear what you think either in the comments on the youtube page, our Facebook wall or simply e-mail us as at anendgame@gmail.com.

Second, in honor of Parkinson's awareness month, a donor who wishes to remain anonymous has generously offered to match all donations up to a thousand dollars for the month of April. That means every donation between now until the end of April will be worth double!

Donations can be made at https://secure.qgiv.com/for/aend or by clicking the yellow donate button in the sidebar to the right of the page!

Finally, to literally sweeten the pot, for every ten dollars donated during this month, you will be entered into a drawing for six Magnolia Bakery cupcakes. Last year Magnolia Bakery teamed with the Michael J. Fox Foundation for a special MJFF cupcake. I ate several (for philanthropic purposes only!). While the Michael J Fox Foundation cupcakes are only until April 8th (and you should definitely get some), the winner will be able to chose from any of their pre-existing flavors and famous buttercream frosting to be deliver to their home!

I am blown away by all of your willingness to donate your hard earned money to our project, to friends willing to offer their time and professional services to make a small camera test into a full shoot day, and to all of you who have written and called with words of support or taken the time to re-post or forward an email to help spread our message. I am truly humbled and grateful for your support.

Don't tell anyone, but I hope it's you that win the cupcakes!
